Are there different types of addictions?
Addictions are unhealthy but temporary adaptive coping strategies that people get stuck using to deal with the effects of trauma.
There are two types of addiction:
1. Chemical
2. Process or Behavioral.
Chemical addictions are addictions to substances such as alcohol, marijuana and other drugs. Process or Behavioral addictions are related to behaviors such as Food, Gambling, Pornography, Sex, Shopping, etc.
